Dice Tsutsumi, Gypsy Kings, and Toy Story 3 oh my!

Recently I discovered the great artist that is Dice Tsutsumi.

I guess technically I already knew about him

I went to a lecture of his at CTN and my friend Eusong talked about him quite a bit

But I finally saw his work when I was browsing the art of toy story 3 at the soon to be extinct Borders

and I love it!!!

I'm pretty confident I'm not a vis dev guy

But seeing his stuff really made me want to draw more again

I wanted to try painting in a similar style for one 

partially because I love his style 

and also because I'm still bad with the tablet and I can't draw lines for my life

So I started thinking about what to draw

Then I remembered that I had just gotten tickets to see the Gypsy Kings!

Tying it all back together I decided that it would just be perfect to do a Toy Story piece!

 

So I drew this while listening to You've Got a Friend in Me (para el Buzz Español) over and over again

Hmmm.... this could possibly qualify as triple fanart or something...

Anyways, I'm sorry to say that this will probably be my last blog post for the summer.  

I'm cleaning up, packing, and trying to sell my laptop!

knowing me I'll probably find a way to get on the internet without my computer

So to all my friends at CalArts, I'll see you in September!

Culinary Genius!

Me and my brother decided to bake.... freestyle

So we grabbed all the baking ingredients we could think of 

and threw in anything we thought would make it taste better.

We were determined to make the most amazing cookie bread cake chimera the world has ever seen

I'd post the ingredients but my brother thinks that's a bad idea.

A sketch done while watching The Adjustment Bureau. I actually watched this solely because I saw guys in suits... I like suits.  A lot.  And this movie has lots of suits.

Have to focus on stuff that I've been putting off.

Some people just can't draw trees.  It's a condition.

Watched a movie, did a study.

I think I may have made the proportions a bit weird but no matter.

Agh!  I actually feel really bad for some reason.

As of right now we're not getting along.

I storyboarded more but it turned violent.

It's a bit weird but it was a little late and I couldn't think of anything to draw.

Brazilian Steakhouse

I went to a Brazilian Steakhouse with my family this last Friday.
The food was good.
But one of the servers had an awesome head shape.

One that I see in weird cartoons and animated movies.
So I tried to remember it as best as I could.
And then today I remembered to remember.

yes.... yes I would.

I apologize ahead of time for this drawing.  Got other things on my mind right now.

anyways, plan on doing some other things.  Hopefully that won't but in the way of my daily drawing.  If I don't post something each day I'll do my best to do a good job when I do.  If it's any consolation, I'm not slacking off, just doing other things drawing-ish related.
